The Journey
Moose Trackers Ice Cream & Confections features quality products and service of a bygone era by bringing old school charm to a new generation. The Brigido family has a heritage of purveying fine food and dry goods and their entrepreneurial spirit is the impetus behind Moose Trackers.
By happenstance, Mark Brigido befriended a new local resident, David Paul, who was converting his 1800’s barn into a unique home and art studio. Paul was an artist extraordinaire transplanted from Los Angeles who came equipped with a like-minded vision of the Brigido’s project.
Headed by David Paul, the newly formed design team began to comb the local countryside for architectural remnants of old mills and abandoned barns. They discovered one local historic barn built in 1703 by Joseph Wilkinson (son of Captain Samuel Wilkinson) said to have been the first barn built in Scituate, Rhode Island. Years later, the site became part of the homestead of U.S. Senator Nelson Aldrich (1841-1915). The planks, posts, and beams of the historic barn made from the (now extinct) American Chestnut tree, now adorn the walls and ceilings of Moose Trackers with a resplendent glow. The interior design also features repurposed brick, stone, and metal all configured into a unique style the team coined “Antique Barn Architecture”.
The next challenge was to offer the best ice cream possible. The Brigido family proclaims there is only one legendary homemade ice cream fit for Moose Trackers and that’s “The Ice Cream Machine” from Cumberland R.I. The new venue will offer more than 50 flavors of ice cream, special toppings, nuts, fruit, and sauces. Mitchel Brigido noted that the venue will be offering “authentic Liége Belgium Waffles made with the real deal Tirlemont pearl sugar.” The new ice cream shop will offer hand packed quarts and pints to-go along with comfortable outdoor seating for customers enjoyment.
“All are welcome to our unique family friendly environment, where at Moose Trackers, we believe that taking a step back in time reminds our customers that the simple things in life are the sweetest” proclaimed the Brigido family (Mark, Sheila, Mitchel, Sydney, and Olivia).”
